Khaki first hit the runway over 40 years ago and has since become a fashion classic. This season, it is making a huge comeback. A number of fashion houses showcased varying styles, including suede khaki by Chanel, sexy, military silhouettes by Marc Jacobs, and safari-style glamour by Ralph Lauren.

Boho to the max

The temperature is rising and we will be welcoming the warm weather and cooling breeze with long, light and flowing dresses. From soft silhouettes, to kaleidoscope motifs and lace and pleat effects, the hippie trend is here to stay.

This season, designers took inspiration from the world of industry to create fashion-forward utilitarian looks. From fighter pilots to technicians, jumpsuits were strutted down the runways, and accessorised with leather belts, scarves and statement jewellery. The jumpsuit is definitely going to be a uniform for the trendies.

Patchy denim

Designers keep reinventing classic denim for the runways. This season, we can expect to see patched denim in faded blues and a range of textured effects.

Skip Fashion: Kimono

The Kimono look is one that we’re quite excited about. The long silhouettes tied at the waist are chic and sophisticated.

We’re guessing that the Durban July theme inspired this trend! The oversized coats, yachting-inspired dresses and sailor's uniforms with a couture edge are expected to be a big hit this season.

Shimmer and shine

Everyone can have their time to shine with the 70s metallic trend. From mini dresses to trousers and blouses, the shimmery designs should make for some interesting nights out!

Mix and match

Different fabrics pieced together, including silk, cottons, patchwork prints and materials, as well as an assortment of colours are the order of the season. Look out for these crazy/normal mix masala numbers.

Sheer style

It’s effortless, elegant and sexy. The sheer look took to the runways in black, and the suggestive style is one to watch for a night out on the town.

Vintage fabrics

Mixing, contrasting and stitching together of fabrics, designers brought a surprising twist to the runways. Spring/summer 2015 will see vintage fabrics and unexpected combinations of prints and textures coming together.

Suit up

Black and white suits, flared trousers, longer and more minimalistic tops paid homage to the 70s era. This sophisticated and edgy take on suiting will give office attire a whole new spin.

It’s hot and vibrant, and red will be the colour on our lips, nails and shoes!

Polka dots

The simplicity of polka dots makes this trend a fashion favourite. This season, it has made a return in fun mini skirts and dresses, and even 3D designs. The only condition is that polka dots are only to be worn in black and white.

Androgynous tailoring

Contrasts, cut-outs and changes to form have been in the air for some time now. This season, we’ll see sexy masculine suits, asymmetric cuts, and streetwear - against-the-grain styles galore.
